Welcome to Oregon Business Education Association! I’m Corri Ellis the president of this amazing organization that wants nothing more than to support business educators in the state of Oregon.
We recently had our first professional conference in three years. The conference brought current and retired business educators from high schools and community colleges together to learn, network, and improve student growth. It was exciting to see the energy at the conference and your OBEA team is ready to keep that energy going.
Whether you are considering becoming a member for the first time or renewing your membership, now is the perfect time to join. As business teachers, we often work in teams of one and OBEA is a place where we can meet up and work with others in the same discipline. Even those that have teams larger than one can gather new ideas or share ideas with others.
Oregon’s population is growing each year and the need for employees that can problem solve, communicate clearly, and multi-task is extremely important and that is where we, as business teachers, come in. We have to continue collaborating to prepare these future business people for today’s working world.
It is an honor and privilege to serve as your OBEA President. We are currently working hard to prepare this year’s conference. You can also find us at the FBLA state conference in April. A big thank you to all of the OBEA board and committee members.
