LAMMERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP 2018 Winner

Corri Ellis, Oregon City, Oregon, received the 14th annual Lammers Professional Development Scholarship given by the Oregon Business Education Association at the Annual Business Meeting in Lebanon, Oregon, on October 26, 2018. Corri will attend the National Business Education Association Convention in Chicago, Illinois, in April with assistance from this scholarship.

Ellis is currently a business education instructor at Molalla High School in the CTE department. She is a member of the MBA Teacher Advisory Network and the president of the Oregon Business Education Association. She also teaches accounting classes part time at Chemeketa Community College.

Ellis values the role of professional organizations for the mentoring, collaborating, and networking afforded by membership and participation. She hopes to help assist with membership recruitment by surveying teachers to determine their needs and how to best meet these requests.

The Lammers’ Scholarship recipient must be a current member of OBEA and be willing to serve in some leadership capacity on the OBEA Council. Corri received up to $300 to help defray expenses to attend the 2019 NBEA Convention. The Lammers Scholarship was established to honor Mary Ann Lammers, the 2004-05 president of the National Business Education Association (NBEA). Mary Ann is a retired faculty member and former Department Chair of the Business Technology Department at Linn-Benton Community College.
