Sadly, we are losing Samantha Kline as the Executive Director of Oregon FBLA/PBL. She has tendered her resignation as of September 1. I hope we can find someone to replace her before she is completely gone so that she can help train the new person and help them hit the ground running. This might be a great opportunity for maybe the right retired person. And think about people who have experience with event planning, as really, that is the majority of the position's requirements. (The FBLA/PBL advisors really handle the "content" aspect of running the organization.)

Hello Everyone,

As you all know by now, Samantha Kline has submitted her resignation, effective August 31. She will be greatly missed, but we certainly understand her decision and have tremendously enjoyed and benefited from her years with us. We wish her well.

The position vacancy will be posted on Friday and will be open until August 10th; if we have an insufficient applicant pool at that time, I will extend it. I have attached a copy of the announcement. WESD will post the vacancy on the WESD website, with the Employment Division, and with other free employment listings. I need your assistance is forwarding the announcement to any other individuals or organizations of interest.

I am working on determining the hiring committee and preparing for the interview process. As soon as we have sufficient applicants, I will work with the committee to schedule the interviews. The committee will include Ron Dodge, Samantha Kline, Chris Rankin, and board representation (2-3?), as well as the FBLA state president or other designated state officer. I would also invite a representative from TRI to participate. If you have any other suggestions for participants (a business partner, maybe?), please let me know. I will need to know which board members will be participating.

I also welcome your suggestions for interview questions. I have attached the questions from the last hiring.
